Amount

In 2026, eleven (11) scholarships were awarded for a total of $23,000. Recipients and dollar amounts may be adjusted annually, but
last year the top recipient received an award of $3,500. The amounts will be paid as lump sum awards.

There are three separate scholarship categories: ENGINEERING; ENVIRONMENTAL/APPLIED SCIENCES; and CONSTRUCTION TECHNOLOGY/TRADES. Each category will be scored separately but applicants can only apply toward one scholarship category that should be in the transportation field.

Scholarship Donation Fund

ASHE Harrisburg is announcing an opportunity to donate to the scholarship fund. The ASHE Harrisburg Scholarship Program is made possible through the donations of our dedicated members and Century Club member companies.

Eligibility

  1. The applicant must be a citizen of the United States and reside in one of the following counties: Adams, Cumberland, Dauphin, Franklin, Lancaster, Lebanon, Perry, or York.
  2. The applicant must be enrolled in, or planning to enroll in, a program leading to a degree in one of the following three categories:
    • 4-year program for engineering
    • 4-year program for environmental/applied sciences
    • 2-year program for construction technology or trade school certification for heavy equipment operator CDL
  3. High school applicants must be a Senior.
  4. The applicant must not have previously received an ASHE scholarship unless it was awarded while they were a high school senior. A student can be awarded one as a high school senior and one as a college or trade school student.
  5. While all applicants who meet the above criteria (a. through d.) are eligible to receive scholarships, please note that preference may be given to applicants in the Civil Engineering field or those who have plans to work in the highway industry.
  6. High School applicants may also elect to be considered for an additional scholarship opportunity from Central Pennsylvania Engineers Week Council (CPEWC).

Applicants will be required to attach one copy of your high school, trade school or college transcript with the application form. Scholarship applications will be evaluated on a point count system with bonus points provided for dependents of an ASHE member.
